• The Lower Paleolithic of Caucasus and Black Sea coast - cave sites excavations and the problem of the earliest settlements of the south part of East Europe;
• The Middle Paleolithic of the Russian Plain - Mousterian and Micoquian stone industries, chronology and periodization of the Middle Pleistocene sites and stone knapping technologies in progress;
• The Upper Paleolithic of European Russia - cultural succession of the Neanderthal man population and the earliest appearance of Homo Sapience, chronology and periodization of the Upper Paleolithic cultures, Kostenki project, the East Gravettian colonization, the adaptation during the Last Climatic Minimum and the Late Glacial, Final Paleolithic cultures, the mobile art;
• The Upper Paleolithic of Siberia and North Asia - settlements of South Siberia, periodization of open-air sites cultures, the northernmost advantage of Paleolithic peoples;
• The Mesolithic of Northern Europe and Arctic - Postglacial technical advance and continuity of Epipaleolithic traditions, Late Mesolithic cultures expansion, Chronology of coastal and inland settlements, high Arctic environment adaptation;
• The Neolithic of Northern Europe and Arctic - the particularity of the Neolithic revolution in the forest zone, chronology of ceramic styles, colonization of Baltic and Arctic ocean coasts and sea level oscillations, the Aeneolithic cultures spread, northern petrogliphs art.
